FLORALLIANCE GROUP

TAFC has a vested interest in developing new varieties in conjunction with growers and propagators. Some of the projects TAFC have been involved in include :

  • Lamont Waxflower Program
  • NSW Department of Agriculture Eriostemon project.
  • More recently the Backhousia “Christmas Carol” project.

A point in case where TAFC has a vested interest to promote new varieties is the CHRISTMAS CAROL project.

In conjunction with a plant selector and propagator TAFC has identified the potential to have grown and market new varieties such as Christmas Carol. TAFC has established a grower group called “FLORALLIANCE”. This group was established by TAFC to fulfill certain functions.

  • To create a forum whereby like minded good growers can meet and share a common purpose.
  • To take advantage and exploit the opportunities of introducing new varieties to the market place.
  • To create marketing program that revolves around product branding through a recognized trade mark. “Christmas Carol”
  • To promote the branding overseas.
  • To use the brand as a means of collecting funds for future research and promotion.

Floralliance is still in its early days, but has created a forum where by a vision is shared by both grower and marketer so both parties can be the financial beneficiaries of the long term outcomes.
